The June 3, 2026, edition of Sony’s State of Play just finished. They’ve announced a lot of good and interesting games, so without prolonging it, let’s dive right into the ones that caught our attention the most. We won’t be showcasing all of them, so feel free to watch the stream if you have the time.
God of War Laufey
This is the big name that came out because no one had any idea about this game. There were speculations that a new God of War game was in development, but we didn’t know that it would be this one. According to the stream, this is a continuation of the story from God of War Ragnarok, but you take control of Faye. She is the mother of Atreus and the deceased wife of Kratos. The combat maintains that fast-paced hack and slash that the series is known for.
Wolverine
Another big title, but we knew about this from several years ago. This is just a broader presentation about the story and gameplay. In terms of the story, Wolverine is looking for some mutant hunters and to save some mutants that they captured. It’s your standard action-packed combat in third person with Wolverine ripping everyone in half. This game does have a lot of blood and some gory moments, but it looks interesting. There are also some notable X-Men characters in this game. Will they be playable?
Silent Hill Townfall
We have more information from this game that was announced several months ago. Silent Hill Townfall is considered to be canon in the Silent Hill universe. This game takes place in the 90s with our two lead characters, Zoe and Simon. Uncover what mysteries and horrors lie beyond this innocent-looking setting. This game has a confirmed release for September of this year.
Rayman Legends Retold
This is a remake or remaster, depending on how you look at it, of the 2013 game Rayman Legends. It’s a 1-for-1 remake with nothing really changed in terms of the gameplay. There’s no need to change the gameplay when you think about it, and this has promise, but it’s a remake, so people who played it already know what to do. It’s a welcome entry, and people who haven’t played it will have a blast.
Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls
Everyone is excited for more Tokon, and they released a trailer featuring three new characters, who are Carnage, Green Goblin, and Magneto himself. This brings the total confirmed roster up to 16, so that leaves potentially 3 left. We say three, since Ghost Rider is yet to have a team, and the last 3 will make it an even 20 playable character roster at launch.
Stuntman: Hollywood
An interesting and original title for starters. This game has you drive through Hollywood stunts. You can progress through the game as the stages will be different shots, like what they would do in a movie. Is it all about driving and stunts? We’ll have to wait and see with this interesting and original IP moving forward.
