It’s common for video game developers to put their games in English as well as the language that they use. Korean developers have it in Korean as well as in English. The other common ones would be in Chinese or Japanese, but other languages can also be included or added later on. Here today, we have a video game developer that added a specific language because of 1 person adding his game on Steam’s wish list.
What’s the story?
The developer EBA GAME had his game BALL BOY SIMULATOR being wish-listed by numerous countries. The available languages at the time were Japanese, Korean, and of course, English. However, he noticed that there was one person who wish-listed his game from the Czech Republic. Normally, that means nothing, but EBA GAME decided to add a Czech language option for this sole wish lister.

That sounds really sweet and something that stretches beyond the world of simply just making a video game in languages that people understand. It is also important to state that the developer said that the translations for all languages were not developed using AI. That adds more to the story of how good the developer is.
What is the game all about?

For now, the only information we have is based on STEAM’s page, which is where you can wish list in the first place. The game is called Ball Boy Simulator, but it’s more than just baseball. Think of baseball as the paint, but the premise is a bit different. The tags on Steam are Simulation, Walking Simulator, 3D Platformer, and Collectathon.
You’re a ball boy, and your role is to get the balls that are out in the field. This isn’t even a baseball game like any sports video game has. The point is, it has more than meets the eye elements. In fact, it also has elements of a psychological horror that you may like or may not be into.

The Japanese and Czech Republic baseball connection
If you didn’t know, maybe there was more to this. There is a different story about Japan and the Czech Republic when it comes to baseball. Back in the 2023 World Baseball Classic, the Czech baseball team was made up of amateur players. This touched the hearts of the Japanese people. So maybe this added to the interest in the EBA Game.

What happened next
EBA Game was generally praised by a lot of the people in the gaming community. It’s a small gesture but rings a lot of bells. Warhorse Studios, the people behind the big game Kingdom Come: Deliverance, is a Czech studio. They loved this and raised awareness of the game, so that’s added marketing for the game. However, realistically, the game looks like it isn’t going to break internet numbers.
Besides the feel-good story, it doesn’t look like a lot of people will be buying this game, at least not on day one. We’ll just have to wait since the game will be coming out at the end of August of this year. Will you be buying Ball Boy Simulator?
