GTA 6 still has a ways to go before coming out, and news is already spreading that Rockstar will allow players to make content for the game that can be monetized. For now, DON’T TAKE THIS AS 100% CONFIRMED, but it seems user-generated content can be available. That’s a good thing; GTA 5 spanned for over a decade with a wealth of content, so why not let people monetize it?
How could this work?
Right now, nothing has been shown on how the methods would apply. However, Rockstar has already been moving in this direction with GTA Online. Its new Rockstar Mission Creator lets players build their own missions and share them with the community. Rockstar has also begun featuring player-created missions through its Community Mission Series.

That suggests a possible future where GTA 6 goes much further: instead of Rockstar having to produce every mission, race, challenge, or roleplay experience itself, players could create much of the game’s ongoing content.
Will it work?

GTA 6 will probably have the same flow as the past games. You can do main quests or missions and then a couple of side and optional missions. What happens when you finish all of that? That’s where this player-generated content can take place. In fact, some people don’t even want to play the side quests but just want to have fun with optional content. This can work, and as long as the players don’t pay for content, this project will definitely take off. Especially now, when games like Roblox allow their players to make content for others to play and make money.
How would this function?

The business model would make a lot of sense. Instead of Rockstar having to continuously spend enormous amounts of money creating every piece of GTA Online content, millions of players could help supply the content. Rockstar could provide the tools and infrastructure, creators could produce experiences, players could spend money within the ecosystem, and Rockstar could take a percentage while giving creators a portion.
It would essentially create a GTA creator economy, and Rockstar already has evidence that community-created content works: its current Mission Creator allows players to create and share missions, while featured creators can have their work promoted by Rockstar itself.
How do players make money?
Think about those games where user-generated content is made. Rockstar or whoever can place ads in the settings. Not necessarily video ads that play when you play the game. The number of players that also go into your content can help generate the income you want. We’ll have to wait for this one and see how you can make money if it is ever even a reality in the first place.

Final Remarks
If this happens, then GTA 6 would not be the first game to do this. After all, you have games like Roblox and even Minecraft where players make their worlds and content. How GTA 6 executes this is up to them. The hype is there, and when the game finally releases, people will mostly focus on the single-player content before jumping into player-generated content.
