Battlefield Hardline Ending Support for PS4 and Xbox One

Battlefield Hardline will be ending support for the PS4 and Xbox One on June 22, 2006. With over 11 years of being online, EA has decided to put the kibosh on the online service of the game. This is a bit different from the other Battlefield games, so it’s a shame for it to go offline forever.

What’s the shutdown situation of Battlefield Hardline?

The game’s online feature will be removed from the PS4 and Xbox One. The games will also be removed from the respective stores on each console. When it comes to the PS5, Xbox S/X, the games will be removed from the stores as well. This means that you can no longer buy the games around May 22, 2026, and servers will be offline on June 22.

For those who already own it, you can still play the game solo or offline. There’s just no way to buy the games again. The good news is that players on STEAM or PC will still be able to get the game and play the online feature. There’s no mention of service ending for the PC versions, which is a good thing.

What is Battlefield Hardline?

Not a lot of people (at least outside the Battlefield fans) know what Hardline is. Most people think of Battlefield as that game with the military shooter. It’s all about soldiers heading out into the battlefield. That is true, that’s why Hardline is different because it focuses more on cops and criminals. It’s like a domestic shooter, more on being street level rather than doing super military missions or battles.

Single Player Story Campaign

Battlefield Hardline Story

The story of Battlefield Hardline follows Nick Mendoza, a young detective working in Miami. The narrative is presented like a television crime drama, with each mission structured as an episode, complete with recaps and cliffhangers. At the beginning, Mendoza and his partner Khai Minh Dao uncover a drug operation, but as the investigation continues, it becomes clear that corruption exists within the police force itself. Mendoza must now uncover what is truly going on as the player progresses through the story.

Combat Gameplay

Combat Gameplay

It has the traditional first-person shooting with new police-themed mechanics. Instead of focusing purely on combat, the game allows players to approach situations in multiple ways. Mendoza can choose to engage in direct gunfights or take a more strategic and non-lethal approach by arresting suspects.

Stealth plays a larger role compared to previous Battlefield titles. Players can sneak through environments, use their badge to temporarily control suspects, and subdue enemies quietly. Arresting criminals earns more points than killing them, encouraging a different playstyle.

The game also features driving sequences and large-scale chases, which add variety to missions. Vehicles such as cars, motorcycles, and helicopters are frequently used during pursuits or escapes, creating fast-paced action moments.

Online Modes

Online Modes

These were some of the the online modes that are going to become inaccessible once the game goes offline.

  • Heist – Criminals try to steal money, cops try to stop them.
  • Hotwire – It’s a high-speed car chase where you must keep vehicles moving.
  • Blood Money – Teams fight to collect and secure cash.
  • Rescue – It’s like search-and-rescue hostage scenarios.
