Everybody loves Dino Crisis 1 and 2, so when they announced Code Violet, people were somewhat excited. You have a third-person shooter where your character is taking out dinosaurs. First of all, these games have no connection, but everyone was made aware of this game’s existence. January 10, 2026, came, and the game was released, and it got bombarded with negative criticisms and a whole lot of controversy.
The No PC Release Controversy
The game was exclusively released for the PlayStation 5. It had no release plans for Xbox or the PC. That would have been fine, but the developers released a statement where they said that the game isn’t released because of the potential mods. They were fearful that the PC community would make some unsafe mods for the lead female character.
That would have been fine and dandy, but they would release a DLC pack (optional) where they had the main characters look a bit sexier than normal. While these costume packs aren’t as raunchy as most costumes would be, it was still kind of hypocritical.

Just a Bland and Boring Game
While the game had some initial promise, the release and initial wave of reviews just didn’t help the game get any more popular. Most reviews would say “you have a sexy character running around shooting dinosaurs”. The pricing for this game also didn’t help since it’s almost around $60. People think that it should be cheaper, but that won’t be enough to save this game. This is one of those instances where a sexy lead isn’t enough to salvage a game riddled with issues and initial bugs.
