Duet Night Abyss is a game that was released on October 28, 2025. Originally conceived as a gacha game, it has since removed the gacha element on its day-one release. It has had some success; however, recent events have made a lot of people uninstall this game on their systems.
The recent Malware attack
On March 18, 2026, the game was infected with Malware. Basically, the servers were hacked, and anyone who logged in at that particular time/day would have been infected with Malware. The issue has since been resolved, but people are not happy. Some have gone to great lengths to uninstall the game. One would think that’s an overreaction, but that incident could have been problematic for a lot of players.

What is Malware?

Malware can function in different ways, but to put it simply, it’s a virus that can be planted on your device or PC. One of the common things it can do is steal data. This is alarming for some DNA players because some of them have their payment methods in the system. Whoever planted the Malware can access the data and use that payment detail to make purchases.
Another danger of Malware is that it can access programs on your PC or device. It makes you think twice if the front camera on your phone or PC is recording you because of the Malware. It can pretty much slow down your device and corrupt files. The worst that can happen is that Malware can destroy your device completely.
What did DNA do about it?
We can be assured for now that the Malware is gone. Players can safely download and log in to the game now. However, they only offered a measly 10 pull compensation and an apology. Players argue that it wouldn’t be enough, but we can’t decide that. Not everyone was infected, nor have we gathered any information about people who were truly affected by it.

People are leaving the game

Maybe it is an overreaction, but some people are leaving the game because of this incident. It’s also worth noting that this is the second hacking incident that happened to DNA. The first one happened in February of the same year. That attack wasn’t as harmful as this one. That first attack, though, did make the players tell the developers of DNA to tighten up security.
Unfortunately, it seems that they didn’t listen, so now they’re trying to fix the damage. Perhaps the damage that the Malware did isn’t so much to do with the actual Malware infecting people’s devices. The damage is more to the player base. We don’t have concrete information on whether the number of players leaving is too detrimental. After all, some people may come back in the future. To the developers of DNA, they had better get their act together and not wait for a third attack, which could lead to more problems later. It could even be worse than Malware, whatever it is.
