Battlefield 6 was just released last October 2025. Suffice to say, reviews were a bit mixed, and it seems that this game has gone stale for the time being. One thing it does have is that most people think that it’s better than Call of Duty 7. Both of these shooter franchises have been duking it out for years, but maybe the steam for these games has all but disappeared. There is a more pressing issue regarding Battlefield 6 at the moment.
What happened in the past few days was just an unfortunate series of events. A lot of the people who worked on Battlefield 6 got laid off. That’s the strangest thing since the game actually sold well. Forget about the criticisms for the game; it has sold way over 20 million copies since October. That’s not a bad number for how these games are doing right now.
It had the recognition of being one of the best-selling games of 2025. The story is a bit muddled, but the multiplayer was praised. This begs the question, why were members of the team fired when the game was a success? At least in the financial aspect, that’s usually what matters for these investors.

Some people are speculating that the buyout from the Saudi company of EA (Publisher of Battlefield 6) is just added pressure. It seems there’s some corporate reshuffling, and those poor unfortunate people who got laid off are victims of it. It is sad, you make a good game, you get fired, you make a bad game, you get fired. Hopefully, these people can get new work later on.
