Final Fantasy XIII: Easy Weapons Upgrade Trick

Final Fantasy XIII has a very distinct weapon system. Upgrading your weapons is easily done by putting some of your unwanted drops on them. However, there is a guide to make your whole life so much easier. It will require a lot of Gil if you plan on upgrading your weapons and accessories. Don’t worry, with this guide, you can pretty much ace and max those weapons in no time. Here are the things that you need to do.

COMPONENTS

There are two types of components that you need to upgrade your weapons and accessories. We’re not going to waste time discussing all the components; all you have to do is just get any of the ones that we mention below. If you played FF 13 (or are currently playing), you would already know how to upgrade.

ORGANIC COMPONENTS (FIRST PHASE)

Using organic components will give your weapon/accessory an EXP MULTIPLIER. This means that whatever component you use will have that experience modified. Think about it, if a Hellish Talon gives +24 experience, with the EXP MULTIPLIER, that will be +72 from just one Hellish Talon.

200% EXP Boost from the Multiplier

The key here is that before you upgrade your item, you need to use the EXP MULTIPLIER trick first. You must use 36 pieces of either BARBED TAILS, STURDY BONES, or VILE OOZES. You must use the same type to get 3x EXP MULTIPLIER. You cannot mix and match them, so it has to be 36 of the same kind. It doesn’t matter if you use Barbed Tails now and Sturdy Bones for the next round.

Using 36 Study Bones to get the EXP Multiplier

SYNTHETIC COMPONENTS (SECOND PHASE)

Now that you have the x3 EXP MULTIPLIER, you must use any of these three Synthetic Components to upgrade (or put the necessary EXP) on the weapon or accessory. For the first level (or rank) of the weapon, you can use CRANKSHAFTS (also ideal for accessories). For weapons on the second level, you can use PARTICLE ACCELERATORS. For the last level of the weapons, use ULTRACOMPACT REACTORS.

Using Particle Accelerators to Upgrade

These components are not cheap, which is why farming Gil is your other concern. If you managed to pull all of these, you’ll be able to boost your weapons up to the ideal levels that you want.
