Fortnite Season 7 Chapter 2 Announcement

Fortnite is going strong, and it’s been almost 10 years since the first game was released. Season 7 Chapter 2 has just been announced, so for all you Fortnite lovers out there, there are a lot of new things to look forward to, and we’ll be tackling them right now.

The Rock is back

The Foundation

That statement alone probably made a lot of people cringe and angry. The Rock (Dwayne Johnson) isn’t really in good light these days. His character in Fortnite is called The Foundation, and he first appeared in 2021. He has gone missing in the following seasons, but the point is that he is back. Whether you like the Rock or not, you’re gonna have to deal with him in this new chapter. Don’t worry, his no losing contract only applies to movies, and not to Fortnite.

Choose a side for the Showdown

The Showdown

A new feature (maybe just for this chapter) called Showdown will be implemented. When you log in, you have to choose whether or not to join the Foundation or the Ice King factions. Choose wisely because you cannot change factions once the choice is made. Once you’ve chosen a side, playing the game will allow you to farm for points for your faction.

Whichever faction wins at the end of the Showdown will unlock the rewards for their side. Meaning if the Foundation side wins, all the items for the battle pass will be from the Foundation. One thing to keep in mind is that even if you’re playing against people of the same side as you are, this doesn’t mean that you have to work together. Unless they’re with your team, you can just shoot each other.

New Rivalries

There is a feature in the map called the Rivalries. You can challenge someone from the opposing side during the game. When you kill your Rival, you will be rewarded with Rival Credits. These credits can be used to unlock more weapons and gear from Rivalry Vending Machines. Challenge another Rival if there are still any surviving players from the opposing faction.

Drive the Bus

There will be a new mini-game mode where one random player can drive the bus during the intro of the match. This could lead to strategies or just straight-up trolling. It could also hurt you in case the player drives the bus outside the range or area that you want. That adds a certain layer of fun or strategy in the long run.

Costume and Battle Passes

What is every update without any battle pass or costumes? We already mentioned the Showdown mechanics about which faction wins can get the items that they want for the battle pass. While it isn’t battle pass related, there are, of course, balances, changes, additions, and more to the gameplay. They have to change things from time to time to make things balance and more interesting than the previous season, and so on.
