Valorant’s upcoming new Agent (Agent 30) has been officially announced. Miks is the new Agent on the block, but he won’t be coming until a few days later. However, we do have some information about his playstyle and abilities, which is why we’ll tackle him right now.
Agent Profile
Miks looks like a spiffy young man with a tanned complexion wearing a hoodie. He comes from the country of Croatia. He is a Controller-type Agent, and he uses sound or sound waves to dominate the battlefield. Being able to debilitate enemies and heal allies is his specialty. His name is Miks, which sounds like the word MIX, which is related to sound or music.
ABILITIES
Listed below are the abilities that Miks has.
M-Pulse
This is one of his basic abilities, which is a take on the word IMPULSE. He will throw a device into a designated area, which will have two different effects depending on what you choose. The device will emit sound waves, which can either Concuss enemies (orange) or heal allies (green).
You can toggle the effect before you throw the device. This ability has two charges, so when you need to, throw one for healing and one for debuffing enemies.
Harmonize
His second basic is where he shoots a stimpack at an ally within range. The ally gains several buffs like movement speed increase, fire rate, and weapon handling. Miks can also get the buff when the ally receives it. If there are no allies nearby, the player can put the stim on Miks himself by just changing the target. It’s the same effect as you do on your ally.
Waveform
Pull out a mini map on the screen. Pick a location on the map that is within range, and you can place a smoke on it. It is just a standard smoke that blocks vision. There’s nothing inside, and there’s no effect on the ally or enemy when going through the smoke.
Basssquake
This is his ultimate ability, where it is another large area cone effect going to the front of you when you use it. The ult has a mixture of orange and purple sound waves. This ult will pulsate and will knock back enemies as well as slow them down and inflict Deafening. The ult will last for a couple of seconds, so be sure to place this in a strategic area.
Is Miks Good? Bad? Mid?
One of the many pieces of feedback from comments is that his smoke is kind of pointless. It’s a standard smoke, so maybe people were expecting something more from it. It’s not bad, but don’t utilize it in a way where you think it’s super effective.
The ult as well got criticized since it seems like another one in a million large area ult effect with debuffs. That’s the good thing with games like Valorant: they can be patched in the coming days. Maybe Miks will get a buff, or maybe get nerfed to hell even more.
