We have to discuss this new trailer that came out. That’s because it bears discussion because of how blatant it is. It could be a bit sad and hilarious at the same time. The game we’re talking about is PICKMON.
What is this game?
From what we gathered, it uses the same engine that Palworld did. In fact, if you look at it from a distance, it does look like Palword. A lot of the mechanics look like they were from Palworld. You have Monsters that you can catch, train, battle, and make them work. It’s also worth noting that there are a lot of guns and explosions on this one.
We can safely assume that it’s something like that. After all, the trailer gives that vibe, which is like an open-world, survival, crafting, with monsters and their guns.
What is this blatantly ripping off?
We mentioned Palworld, but if you look at the trailer, there are blatant Pokémon rip-offs. While it’s not a 100% copy, you can see one of the monsters having the body of Emboar and the head of something else. The playable character’s monster looks like a furrier or hairier Pikachu.
They also have the character look like Link from the Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. While the last one is a stretch, the boss at the end does give you Ganon vibes (Link’s mortal enemy).
They even have a Roadhog (from Overwatch) ripoff in this trailer. It’s a bit funny because we don’t know if the game will be out. If it does come out, maybe it’s a lawsuit just waiting to happen.
