A lot of these gacha games have something called a monthly pass. It’s a cheap thing to buy, which is usually $5 or less. You’ll get X amount of initial resources, and then every day you get X amount of resources again until the 30 days are over. It’s not expensive, and it helps you save some resources for your pulls.
One-time purchases can be fine
These gacha games also have a promo where if you purchase their in-game currencies for the first time, you get more (usually double the same amount) of the package you are paying for. Suppose you are going to pay, why not pay for the highest package so you get more or double it? It’s a nice one-time purchase or buy a costume/skin that you really want for a character that you have.

On the opposite end, there may be some good reasons why you shouldn’t spend money.
Enjoy the story, not the end content
End content is what people usually go for, which is fine. However, if you’re just a story kind of person, then you can settle for the characters that you have or can afford to pull. The main story is never an issue as long as the characters you have are up to date with their equipment and levels. Once you finish the story, you can enjoy the other content that doesn’t require specific characters to be completed.
Don’t be a META slave
The META is a term that refers to certain characters and builds excel in the current version or patch of the game. This is greatly required for the hard endgame content. This is when most people would spend a lot of money to pull for characters just for the META. However, the META will always change. New characters and gameplay mechanics will be introduced. This means that the money you spent on those characters will be tossed to the side. New characters will be introduced, and you’ll have to spend more to get the new ones.

Spend your money wisely when you want to play these gacha games. There are a lot of them around, so if you finish the current story of one of them, then just move on to another gacha game until you get updates on the story.
