Some people love soulslike games, and some people like visual novels. So, why not try this free game called Kobayakawa-san, which is a Soulslike? This is a very short game and was made by one person. It’s free, so if you have nothing better to do, try downloading it at the site link in the instructions below.
What is the game all about
It is a dating sim that allows you to do the usual stuff. These would be to read dialogue and choose answers that will determine what the outcome is. It is a short game, less than five minutes to finish. However, the concept is a bit different because there are only four answers to choose from. Only one of the four answers is the correct for each question. Failure to answer the correct one will result in death. You can still restart at your last death point and pick the answer that you didn’t pick previously.

It’s a game of trial and error with minimal story, but it’s a free game, and it was made by one person. You can’t really expect much, but the concept itself is fun. The story is that Kobayakawa-san (the girl) is jealous of the girl you were with the other day. So now, it becomes a soulslike game where you have to appease her and get her health bar down to zero, three times.
How to get the game

You can head to the website (above) and follow the link. Sorry, we can’t link the site since we can’t say if it’s safe or not. However, we didn’t have any issues with the game. Download the game using the button (downward arrow). You’ll be downloading the zip file, and once that’s done, just unzip the file. Now, in the image below, launch the game through the icon, and you can start playing. Remember, this is a free game, so don’t pay for it if you happen to stumble on it on other sites.

An interesting concept indeed
Soulslike games are considered to be some of the hardest genre of games out there. That’s only natural, but some people aren’t fond of it. In the concept of this game, calling it soulslike is just a way to hook in some players. It is just a game about trial and error; however, we’re not criticizing the game for what it is. After all, it’s free and very short; it’s just one of those things that you can enjoy for the moment.
After you beat it, you pretty much know what to do and what the answers are already. Maybe some day an indie team or a bigger group will make something like this. An expanded visual novel with some hard elements. Then again, most visual novels are already challenging if you pick the wrong answer. There are those that just have a feeling where your answers or choices matter. Then, there are those where the choices are just illusions, and you don’t really end up getting anywhere or noticing any difference from any answers, most of the time.
