Gamescom 2026 just dropped and it dropped a lot of bombs. From updates to games we already know are coming and to new games that have yet to be announced until today. We’re taking a look at some of these promising games. Some games that already had a lot of build up include Tides of Annihilation, Silent Hill: Townfall, Megaman Dual Override, and others.
The Witcher 3 (Expansion and Remaster)
Let’s start this list with a big back to back Witcher 3 reveal. Months ago it was announced that there would be an expansion. Finally, we have a title and it is called Songs of the Past. It’s been 11 years since the Witcher 3 ended, and now we have another announcement which is the Remaster of Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt. This puts a smile on our face as we want more of that Witcher 3 goodness.
Final Fantasy VII Revelation
We got another FF 7 Revelation trailer and this one focuses on the WEAPONS. We got more reveals on the gameplay like an underwater submarine fight against the Emerald Weapon. Some points of the story has also been showcased like the return to Midgar section with new scenes added. There’s even a shot of the Big Materia, you’ll blink and you’ll miss it.
Gears of War E-Day
It’s a glorious game when a new Gears of War game is announced. E-Day takes place years before the first game. It kinda explains where the Locust comes from. We also see young Marcus and Dom, as well as other characters who we are familiar with and some that we don’t know yet. We don’t see much gameplay, but it is a story trailer after all.
Nodus Fall
Believe it or not, this is from the company that brought you Genshin Impact, Honkai: Star Rail, Zenless Zone Zero, and more. Nodus Fall is another example that Hoyo is branching out to different genres. That’s always a welcome thing as long as the game looks fine. Speaking of the game, it does have that Elden Ring vibe, so it’s getting that kind of attention right now. Good or bad, we hope to see more from the gameplay side of things.
Rainbow Six Tactics
The Tom Clancy Rainbow Six games have been known for FPS games. Whether you’re surviving or competing with enemies, first-person shooting is what these games are known for. Enter Rainbow Six Tactics. This is a game that has that Tom Clancy flavor, but this time it is a tactical and strategy game. Think about games like Final Fantasy Tactics, or something similar to XCOM. It’s an interesting shift, and we hope it makes a good impression.
Metro 2039
The fourth game in the Metro series is Metro 2039. This takes place 3 years after the end of Exodus, and it maintains all the same familiar elements of the Metro games. It is a first-person game with all the atmosphere from the past games, armed with nice guns and a mystery to boot.
Turok Origins
The last one we have for today is Turok Origins. Announced over a year ago, we have more of that dinosaur-slaying goodness that we missed. After all, this series has been around for almost 30 years, and with the absence of some games, Origins has it all packed up for us to unwrap our nostalgia on.
