There’s no denying that Grand Theft Auto 6 is one of the most hype and anticipated releases for this year. It’s been 13 years since GTA 5, and that game made Rockstar Games over $11 billion. That’s insane, and people are so excited for GTA 6, which will be released in November of this year; however, there are a couple of complaints.
The price for the game

We’re used to games being released around $60. That’s the way it has been since the 80s; however, some games have been released around the $70 price range. There are some that are sold for less. When it comes to GTA 6, they announced the price, and some people are not happy. Pre-orders are already available, so if you’re itching to do so, you can order one now and wait until release day.
Standard Edition
The Standard Edition is around $79.99. This edition is pretty much the basic one. You get the game, and that’s it. There are no other additions to it. So, when you think about it, it’s an $80 game, which is $20 more expensive than any regular game.
Ultimate Edition
The Ultimate Edition costs around $99.99. You get the base game and a couple of goodies. There are some item customizations that you get for this price. These include custom vehicles, gun skins, character clothing, and so much more.

Why are people mad?
This announcement was supposed to be good because now, we have a confirmed release date, which is November 18, 2026. Unfortunately, a lot of people are not happy, and maybe for the right reasons.
The price is just too much
For starters, a lot of people think that nearly $80 for the base game is too much. Even $70 would be too much, but it’s probably something that video game and Triple-A publishers are testing the waters with. We know this game will sell like hot cakes when the game comes out.
No physical copies

Believe it or not, there is no physical copy of the game, at least as of now. If you buy a copy in a box, in this case, pre-order. You will be sent a box for the console that you want; however, there is no disc inside it. What you’ll get is a code that you can claim online. Then, it will allow you to digitally download the game to your console.
That’s another reason people are mad. How are they going to charge people with these outrageous prices and not provide an actual disc or physical copy? You’re better off buying the game through a digital download. One explanation is that the game is too big to fit on one disc, so they made it that way.
Final Thoughts
While it seems the price won’t be going down until the release date, the physical copy dilemma may take a good turn. Maybe if too many people cry about it, then physical copies may be produced, that’s a big if. Let’s face it, regardless of the price and lack of physical copies, people will buy GTA 6, and maybe so will you.
