It’s been two months since the last time Overwatch released some heroes. When they did back in February, they released four of them: Emre, Anran, and Jetpack Cat. It’s April now, and they just released a solo hero named Sierra, and we’re taking a look at her.
Sierra’s Character Overview
Sierra Turner Woods is an American woman born in Virginia. She has dark skin and looks young. She is a DAMAGE hero with the RECON as her sub-role. Specializing in a hooking mechanic, she can be very mobile on the battlefield and drop bombs on the enemies.

Weapon
Her weapon is called the Helix Rifle. It is an assault rifle-type gun that fires in a helix pattern with purple projectiles being launched. The gun itself will rotate as it is being continuously fired. It seems to deal decent damage at a fast pace. Even if the tracked hero is outside the frame of vision, the projectiles will still hit it.

Abilities
We’ll now tackle the abilities that make up Sierra’s capabilities. She is mobile and has some specialties with area of effect attacks.
Tracking Shot
This is an ability that you could consider to be a debuff for the enemy or a buff for Sierra. An enemy is tracked for 10 seconds, and all of her shots from the Helix Rifle will land on the tracked enemy. It’s basically an aimbot, but only works for her Helix Rifle. Whether that can be a bit broken, or Blizzard may have to patch that later on.

Anchor Drone
Sierra launches a drone into the selected area. She can then grapple herself to the drone’s location. This allows her to be mobile and even ascend above the skies, where she can do a lot of other things, like shooting enemies from above or using her other abilities.

Tremor Charge
A grenade can be thrown, and once it lands on the selected area, it unleashes three directional waves of energy. Think of it as a cone attack, and all enemies in the area of effect will be hit. It does a slight knockback effect on the enemies.

Trailblazer
This ultimate ability will make Sierra launch multiple drones. Those drones will then bombard an area with miniature bombs. Those small bombs will then explode and deal damage to all the enemies within range. It is a basic area ultimate, but the best way to utilize this is to use your Anchor Drone. Launch that drone in the air, grapple on it, and unleash your ult to the enemies below. It can effectively use both abilities, and you can find your vantage point when you drop the bombs.

Is Sierra good to use?
If you like fast-paced and high mobility gameplay, then Sierra is a good hero to use. Perhaps for now, her damage output isn’t as high compared to other heroes. Speed is her speciality, and she can flank the backlines easily. There’s always that chance that Blizzard may nerf her or change some of her kit. For now, it works, and it is at least different from other heroes.
