Summer Game Fest 2026 just ended, and boy, did they deliver a lot of interesting games. This is the seventh SGF event, and it’s been a mixed bag. Some of them were bad, and some were good, but this one is definitely good. Let’s take a look at the more interesting games and titles shown in today’s event.
Final Fantasy VII Revelation
This is the biggest title to come out, simply because people have been waiting for the game’s trailer or any news about it for years. If you’ve played the OG FF 7, then the trailer probably showed you a lot of the locales and areas that were in Disc 2. It also shows Vincent and Cid gameplay, because those two were not playable in Rebirth. Not to mention gameplay tweaks and the addition of a Job System, which has been a staple in the Final Fantasy series. The game is slated to come out in the spring of 2027, so we’re gonna have to wait.
Stellar Blade Blood Rain
We recently made a post about Stellar Blade 2 not being published by Sony. Now, they drop this trailer in SGF with the title Blood Rain. In the trailer, we have a new character named Evie. So where is Eve? Well, we’re not spoiling what happened to her in the first game. She may appear in Blood Rain, but this trailer has that familiar element to the first game. We can’t wait to find out more about what the game has to offer.
Resident Evil Veronica
Capcom just had humongous success with Resident Evil 9. Their remakes of RE 2 to RE 4 were also a huge success. They announced Resident Evil: Veronica. This is basically a remake of Resident Evil Code Veronica. From the trailer, we can gather that the gameplay is in first person and it has all the classic points from Code Veronica. This is another game that is coming in 2027, and Claire and Chris will be making a comeback.
Gundam Rogue Orbit
This is a game from the Gundam franchise, and they have a couple of games every year. This one has been touted as a single-player RPG. Think about Armored Core, and the mechanics of the game that have been shown are very interesting. It’s a third-person action shooter and hack-and-slash. It looks promising, and it doesn’t seem to belong to any existing Gundam series. It could be a standalone, but maybe that’s what will make it good.
Guild Wars 3
Perhaps very few people have played a third game in the series. Guild Wars 3 is yet another MMO that players can sink their time into. We haven’t seen any gameplay yet, but Guild Wars 2 has proven itself to be a top contender, and perhaps more news is in the future.
Alien Isolation 2
It’s been over 10 years since the first game came out. Now, we have an announcement of the second game. Not much gameplay has been shown, but the first Isolation game is loved by a lot of people. It has that horror element mixed with some good action, so we can say that this game will be a top contender when more details are out.
