One of the most anticipated games to release this year, in fact, it’s coming out later this March, is Crimson Desert. This game is slated to release for PC, PlayStation, and Xbox systems. The people behind this game are from Pearl Abyss, the same company that made Black Desert, a renowned game in its own right. Controversy struck when they announced earlier this week that Crimson Desert will have DENUVO.
What is DENUVO?

DENUVO is a DRM program that prevents games from being pirated. To summarize, when you launch your official copy of Crimson Desert (or any other game that has DENUVO), it will undergo a verification system. When your game is legit, then it will launch normally, and then you can play the game.
If the game is pirated, then it will have a hard time launching. However, people are smart, and a lot of these hackers can make cracks for these games with DRM, but it will take a couple of days for it to happen. So, the DAY 1 players who can’t get it because of Denuvo might be waiting for a while.
Why is DENUVO bad and hated?
For starters, most people understand the need for Denuvo. It protects the game from being pirated, and most of the who are hating on it are either labeled as poor (since they want to pirate the game) or just entitled.
There are valid reasons why some people do not like Denuvo. One reason is that people think it slows down performance. Imagine playing the game, and it is lagging in some parts. Another reason is that people believe that your data may be susceptible.
Hey, if you really want to buy Crimson Desert, then that shouldn’t be an issue if it has Denuvo.
